Hazy Day in Autumn ( 朦朧的秋日)

It's weekend. Time to stretch my legs.

The sky is filled with clouds

But there are breaks

There's enough light to make them shine

They stick up and string out their flowers everywhere

The grass put out their spiky flowers

And the rushes too

They sway with the breeze

This way and that

They glow in the sun

Some more upright than others

They grow in clumps

They stretch out in all directions

The path is strewn with little flowers

though it's already seed pod time for some

like this string of seeds

and time for berries for others

whilst some other still busy trying to catch up

There are little fluffy balls everywhere

And this unknown flower is busy blooming

competing with this sea morning glory

and more sturdy flowers on the tree

It's leaf time for this plant

Some are always faster than others

This plant is putting out new leaves too

and so is this

Not all new leaves are delicate

Most leaves are red when they first come out

Many of them are thick with hair

The hillsides are still green with trees, shrubs and creepers

It's practically a jungle

Some banana leaves are yellowing

Whilst others are still mostly green

They can turn out various colors on different parts

Some have been eaten by all kinds of worms

until hardly any of their original surface remains

A few tiny wild flowers at the side of the path

Some leaves are already on the ground

The hills look so indistinct in the autumn haze

The nearer they are, the darker their hue

I wonder who put up these two dolls at the entrance of a cave

The seas are never far away

a golf course

its lawn always well manicured

Rocks and crags always dot the hilltops

They come in all kinds of shapes

Imaginative people can give them all kinds of names resembling either animals or man

What name will you give these rocky outcrops

a view of the highway linking Hong Kong Airport to the Pearl River Delta

This is costing us a fortune

But not all paths need be built with concrete

Some can simply be smoothed out from the hillside

There can be more than one path leading to the same spot

Some are steeper than others

The Reservoir serving Discovery Bay residents

Where there are hills, there will always be valleys

and there can be inter-montane fields too

Can this be Hong Kong?

No matter what the answer may be, there's little doubt that this is flower time for this creeper which literally covers an entire hill valley.
