A Romp Outside (出外溜 溜)

It's nice to visit one of the outlying islands.

If there's nothing else, there is at least the sea.

and to get there, of course you need a boat.

Whilst enjoying the sea breeze, one can always look at the clouds.

and a pier the boat briefly stops to enable the needed provisions to be delivered to the inhabitants further uphill.

Sometimes, clouds can assume strange shapes.

Ah, the shore at last

A few flowers high up there .

some growing by the road side

in front of someone's house

or beneath a window

Sometimes, you'd find the most incredible stuffs lying outside a house

or find some leaves preparing to go

There may be some hardy flowers too

just beside a rusty bicycle

or a rusty bin

covered over by pieces of string.

You may also find an old sofa seat tied with a chain

or an old but undiscarded foldable chair wired to the side of a wall

or a sewer secured with bits of strings

Believe it or not, these tiny flowers still find sufficient space to grow on a sewer pipe!

You may find an arbor formed by creepers

If you were to climb a few steps, you could see a little further

and find worm eaten leaves at the side of the stairs going up

and creepers with star like fingers

You may find a few small uninhabited islands or a huge rock here and there close to the shore

perhaps a beach where no one goes to

whose waters are, for a change, still crystal clear

There you can sit around and listen to the waves

and if you feel adventurous, explore a bit

and if you so fancy, you may even get down to the beach

and have it all to yourself

or simply look around

and find another angle to look at what's around

and enjoy the gentle motion of the swaying reeds

or gape at the color of the sea

You may even find an odd looking stump or two

and wonder at how clever these creepers can wind themselves up in search of more light

or the odd shape made by leaves going dry

or completely so.

If you're lucky, you may even find some flowers in the sun

or the odd shape of construction equipment against the sky.

But on the islands, everywhere you go, you'll find tiny flowers growing in the oddest places

and admire their will for life

and when you're done, you can always return the same way, leaving a trail of memories bubbling up and down with the lingering waves behind the boat: the sea, the sand, the sky, the clouds, the flowers, the leaves....
