After the Rain (雨後)

Except for farmers, few people like rains. And even farmers don't like rains at harvest time. And owners of vineyards of various chateaux hate rain falling at the wrong time. It could mean poor quality wine.  But rain won't necessarily be unwelcome all the time.

Raindrops decorate petals

and a sheen to little flowers they'd otherwise lack

They form little pearls at the bottom of the flowers

 

Little flowers somehow become brighter
 

They hang pearls upon the tips of twigs

They encourage new shoots

They break the monotony of red needles

and turn petals into tiny basins. 

  

and somehow green looks slightly greener after the rain, no matter by how little
