Deep Autumn (深秋)

The humidity is gone. But not the sweltering heat. Lucky if from time to time, there'll be a little breeze.

The color of deep autumn

Some trees stay the same, autumn or no autumn

But their little brethren need a little hairy protection

Some really tiny flowers creep up

whilst others bloom in clusters when the weather becomes drier

Many nameless flowers seem to like the weather

displaying their tiny glory by the roadside

close to some broken walls

or hang down from slender branches

sticking out their honey tipped hairs

or spreading out their petals like tiny windmills.. Why on earth is it that they're all just happen to be colored purple around this time of the year.

Who says that the purples have autumn all to themselves?

I agree

So do we

Me too, says this flower of the chieh-gua

Not color, surely but firm support

For us, we love strong gusty autumn winds

Some like it wet, some like it dry.

I'm all for dryness

Me too.

Me, I'm not so sure. Really depends when.

It's obvious whether I'm like them.

No rain for us please

The luscious fruit of the common crepe

and little grape like berries

these are cracked too, like over-ripe pods; though not on their own power

broken linen

afternoon shadows

more shadows

Ah, flames of autumn

How we love autumn !

So do we. We're close relatives, aren't we?
