Sha Lo Wan (沙螺灣)

I haven't  gone out for a while. It's time to be up and about.

In the meantime, little plants have grown;

some branches had been hacked;

the bauhinia has continued to bloom;

and not at all alone.

some leaves have yellowed;

Some other little flowers have shot up;

whilst others are continuing to bloom.

I discovered something I had never seen before: these little grapes appear to have grown out from the top of this leaf.

One of the casualties of the aridity of autumn.

This hibiscus seems totally indifferent to it.

Leaves hugging a bike

the face of death

the wheels of fortune

Little parachutes about to fly off

Some nameless little flowers

lovely white

Another perpetual.

The fire is burning away

The Chinese wok spatula is in fast mode

busy for a reason

these chicken are being braised

and these corn and silver ear fungus are being cooked for the Tse clan of San Tau Village because it's ancestral worship day.

It's a matter of little concern for these leaves though

The children have returned for the occasion

but this house remains closed

The wire net has rusted away.

and banana leaves are left to wither

The endless cycles of life and death are constantly being played.

Some goes, others come.

like tiny foils of life that cut into the air

From death comes new forms of life

like a marshmallow sprinkled with powdered sugar

Some don't care where they grow

a lamp post is as good as any

just so long as they are allowed to bloom

The new festival begins before the vestiges of the last have vanished

The colors of death never appear suddenly

They follow the pace of Nature, ie. almost imperceptible.

Finally got the chance to see this camphor tree which even Japanese soldiers dared not cut during WWII because they thought there's a tree god inside

It must have been there for hundreds of year

But for this tiny bee, what counts is the honey it harvests today

I never get tired of the color of the new leaves

People are just blurry background to Nature

You'll know what I'm talking about if your mind does not remain in this condition.
